    Sirius registers with Career Transition Partnership (CTP)

    Sirius Analysis Limited is pleased to announce that we are now registered as an employer with the Career Transition Partnership (“CTP”), which provides resettlement services for those leaving the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force and Marines. As an armed forces-friendly organisation, our registration with the CTP further reinforces our ongoing commitment to promoting and supporting the employment of veterans and Service Leavers.     Matt Harrison joins Sirius Analysis

    Sirius Analysis Limited (Sirius) are delighted to announce Matt Harrison has joined the Sirius team. Matt joins from Dstl in the role of Principal Consultant. Matt has over 20 years’ experience in leading operational research and systems analysis activities, predominantly conducted on behalf of UK Government. He has worked extensively on both research and acquisition projects, typically in the Air/C4ISR domain; he is experienced in generating evidence for MOD Business Cases and is familiar with current Government Approvals guidance and processes. Matt spent 18 months at NATO Joint Force Command in Naples and several years as the UK Technical Lead for international activities related to future combat air.  Welcome to the team Matt!

    Dave Hedley and Mikey Rogers join Sirius Analysis

    Sirius Analysis Limited (Sirius) are delighted to announce Dave Hedley and Mikey Rogers have joined the Sirius team. Dave joins in the role of Principal Consultant and brings a wealth of expertise in cost focussed analysis, project and business case support in the defence and industry sectors. He is a committee member of the Society for Cost Analysis and Forecasting and a long-time contributor to the Team Defence Information Supportability Modelling and Analysis Working Group. Mikey joins as a Graduate Analyst and is an expert in statistics, mathematical modelling and stochastic processes . He is a recent graduate who has experience conducting both data analysis and understanding risk and uncertainty.

    Sirius Join Team Defence Information

    Sirius Analysis have joined Team Defence Information; a collaborative association that informs defence information policy and pilots new ways of working to transform the defence ecosystem. It brings into play the collective insights, knowledge and innovations of its members to help the MOD deliver its objectives for equipment, support, logistics, and information. The collaboration with the MOD gives members invaluable business intelligence to align and enhance their products, services, and working practices. This enables the successful exploitation of information across the defence enterprise where Sirius Analysis will work across organisational boundaries to share perspectives, build common standards and deliver common goals, providing mutual benefit and cost-effective solutions.

    Sirius Director Tom Baldwin made a Fellow of the Operational Research Society

    Sirius are pleased to celebrate one of our directors, Tom Baldwin, being accredited as a Fellow of the Operational Research Society (FORS). The OR Society is a professional membership body for operation researchers, data scientists and analysts dedicated to the science and art of problem solving. Tom has been involved in OR for nearly 20 years, working on a range of analytical studies and regularly participating in OR conferences and events including the International Symposium on Military Operational Research (ISMOR) and the Defence Special Interest Group. Well done Tom!

    Sirius achieves Cyber Essentials Plus certification

Cyber Essentials is a UK government backed scheme designed to protect organisations against a range of the most common cyber attacks. Cyber Essentials plus uses external technical verification to ensure companies have appropriate technical controls in place against cyber attacks.     Darrell Hannam have joined the Sirius team. Nicola joins in the role as Commercial Manager and brings a wealth of commercial and contracting expertise from multiple sectors. Darrell joins as a Project Manager / Principal Consultant with significant project management and military experience and C4ISR expertise, having served over 20 years in the Royal Navy.     Sirius Director David Bangert awarded PhD

    Sirius is pleased to report that one of its Directors, David Bangert, has just been awarded a history doctorate from the University of Portsmouth.  His PhD, Interrogating the Future: Imagining the Future of War in an Age of Change, 1870-1914, investigates the reasons why the vast majority of commentators failed to predict how the First World War would be fought.  David’s expertise in Operational Research (OR) and knowledge of contemporary Defence matters provided insights for the development of his PhD, including recognising the importance of one of the few visionaries to predict the War, Jean de Bloch, who wrote what can be considered to be the first work of OR at the dawn of the Twentieth Century.  David is aiming to present his findings on this pioneering work at an OR Conference in 2021.

    Sirius obtains JOSCAR accreditation

    Sirius Analysis Limited is pleased to announce we have obtained formal JOSCAR accreditation. JOSCAR (Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register) is the accreditation and compliance system for the defence aerospace sectors including prime contractors, civil aviation and security. It acts as a single repository for pre-qualification and compliance information, providing an efficient way for buying organisations to determine if suppliers are “fit for business”.

    Sirius Analysis Limited (Sirius) are proud to announce we have officially signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant. Sirius commit to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.

    Sirius will endeavour in our business dealings to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, which are:

    • no member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen
    • in some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate especially for the injured or bereaved.

    Sirius Analysis Limited recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, by:

    • promoting the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation;
    • seeking to support the employment of veterans young and old and working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), in order to establish a tailored employment pathway for Service Leavers;

    Sirius accepted onto ASTRID framework

    Sirius Analysis Limited (Sirius) is pleased to announce they have been accepted onto the ASTRID framework. The initial 5 year framework, ran by BAE Systems CORDA on behalf of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), is worth up to £350m and will provide cutting-edge analysis thinking to underpin Defence and Security decision-making.

    Sirius’s Technical Contact for ASTRID, Tom Baldwin, said “Sirius has extensive experience of providing analysis support to Dstl, wider MOD and government from research to capability development and acquisition. We are looking forward to the opportunity to continue to apply our critical analysis skills and capabilities to real defence and security problems.”

    Sirius obtains ISO 9001 accreditation

    Sirius Analysis Limited (Sirius) is pleased to announce they have obtained ISO 9001 accreditation, which certifies Sirius’ quality management system (QMS). The accreditation was undertaken by an external auditor who assessed Sirius’s QMS, including policies, processes and procedures against the ISO 9001 standards. Jo Llewellyn, Sirius’ Quality Manager, said, “Sirius are committed to delivering high impact, quality analysis work to our customers. A well-functioning quality management system is critical to achieving this and ISO 9001 accreditation demonstrates this commitment.”

    Sirius Analysis Limited (Sirius) is pleased to announce they have obtained Cyber Essentials certification. Cyber Essentials is a UK government backed scheme designed to protect organisations against a range of the most common cyber attacks. It uses a self-assessment to help companies ensure they have appropriate technical controls in place against cyber attacks. Jo Llewellyn of Sirius said, “Cyber Essentials certification shows that Sirius takes IT security seriously by having secure IT systems and appropriate cyber security measures in place.”
